A cast album has been released of tracks from musical Tokyo Rose ahead of its new UK tour.
The show, which started out at Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2019, tells the story of Iva Toguri who stood trial for treason after being accused of spreading Japanese propaganda over the airwaves during World War Two.
Composer William Patrick Harrison’s energetic score includes cross-genre tracks encompassing pop, electronic and neo-classical in a largely sung-through format.
The album features the voices of cast members Kanako Nakano, Maya Britto, Lucy Park, Yuki Sutton, Amy Parker and Cara Baldwin. The recording was produced by Sam Featherstone, William Patrick Harrison and Hannah Benson.
It is now available via Spotify at https://open.spotify.com/album/5O2oN6RfaJrQLQ7NNSSbWA.
