Marina Carr’s new play, Girl on an Altar, at Kiln Theatre re-tells the Greek myth of murderous wife Clytemnestra. Tickets on sale now

Full casting has been announced for the premiere of Marina Carr’s new play, Girl on an Altar, at Kiln Theatre in London.
The show, re-telling the Greek myth of Clytemnestra, will feature Nina Bowers as Cassandra, Daon Broni as Aegisthus, Jim Findley as Tyndareus, Kate Stanley Brennan as Cilissa, David Walmsley as Agamemnon and Eileen Walsh as Clytemnestra.
Running from 19 May to 25 June, with press night on 25 May, Girl on an Altar is being staged as part of a new partnership between Kilburn’s Kiln Theatre and the Abbey Theatre in Dublin.
It is directed by Annabelle Comyn with designer Tom Piper, lighting designer Amy Mae, composer and sound designer Philip Stewart, video designer Will Duke and movement director and intimacy director Ingrid Mackinnon.
The team also includes casting director Julia Horan CDG, voice and dialect coach Daniele Lydon, costume supervisor Isobel Pellow and assistant director Jessica Mensah.
Leading Irish playwright Marina Carr, whose plays include By the Bog of Cats, On Raftery’s Hill and adaptations of Blood Wedding and Hecuba, brings the story of murderer Clytemnestra to the forefront and asks is it possible to forgive the unforgiveable.
