New photography by Johan Persson provides a first look at Life of Pi at the Wyndham’s Theatre in London’s West End

Production photography has been released of the West End premiere of Life of Pi, Lolita Chakrabarti’s stage adaptation of Yann Martel’s award-winning book. You can read a round up of Life of Pi reviews here.

After previews began on 15 November, the show has its press night at the Wyndham’s Theatre on Thursday 2 December 2021. It is booking to 27 February 2022.

For the first time, the historic West End theatre has been transformed to fully accommodate the magnificent elements of the production that left audiences mesmerised when it first opened in Sheffield.

Hiran Abeysekera returns to the show as Pi, alongside Mina Anwar as Ma, Nicholas Khan as Father, Payal Mistry as Rani, Tom Espiner as Father Martin and Commmander Grant-Jones, Raj Ghatak as Mamaji and Pandit-Ji, Syreeta Kumar as Mrs Biology Kumar and Zaida Khan, David K.S. Tse as Mr Okamoto, Kirsten Foster as Lulu Chen, Habib Nasib Nader as Cook, Voice of Tiger, Fred Davis, Daisy Franks, Romina Hytten, Tom Larkin, Tom Stacy and Scarlet Wilderink.

It is directed by Max Webster with a creative team including set and costume designer Tim Hatley, puppet and movement director Finn Caldwell, puppet designers Nick Barnes and Finn Caldwell, video designer Andrzej Goulding, lighting designer Tim Lutkin, sound designer Carolyn Downing, composer Andrew T Mackay, dramaturg Jack Bradley, casting director Polly Jerrold, associate director Hannah Banister, associate set designer Ross Edwards, costume supervisor Sabrina Cuniberto and props supervisor Ryan O’Connor.
