Michael Sheen and the National Theatre celebrate Dylan Thomas Day with a new video

Michael Sheen performs Dylan Thomas’ powerful poem, “Do not go gentle into that good night”, in a video released today by the National Theatre to mark the annual Dylan Thomas Day.

It ties in with the upcoming production of Thomas’ classic “play for voices”, Under Milk Wood, at the National Theatre’s Olivier Theatre from 16 June to 24 July 2021, with a large cast including Sheen as well as Karl Johnson and Siân Phillips. It is directed by Lyndsey Turner with additional material by Siân Owen.

International Dylan Thomas Day celebrates the life and work of the Welsh poet, held each year on 14 May – the anniversary of when Under Milk Wood was first read on stage at 92Y The Poetry Center, New York in 1953.
